 Poor quality under low light March 3, 2010

I purchased this product to take videos of my newborn daughter. Hence, I used this camcorder mostly for taking videos in my house (in January, so not in bright sunlight).
I was very disappointed by the video quality. A video I took in my back garden during a sunny day was fantastic, so if you need this camcorder mostly for holiday videos in good light conditions it is very good. Good handling, nice features, I was otherwise very pleased.
But for videos in your house or at low-light/night, for instance family videos at Christmas, the quality is really bad. I returned the camcorder to amazon and bought a different model with which I am very happy now.
A general remark about HD camcorders. As great as HD videos are, they also take significant resources on your computer, both in terms of disk space and CPU/memory requirements if you plan to edit your videos.

So far, from my sroht experience i can say its a very nice camera. the image quality is great as advertised and most functions seem to work quite well. on the low side, the image quality in low light drops heavily and battrery life is not great either, sound was also not amazing, but ok. - for the price i think its a good bargain.

The product is all I expected of it although it is early days to give a full appraisal. Small enough to fit the average pocket which for a long time DSLR user is paramount for a second string piece of equipment
Would have appreciated some guidance as to where to buy a spare battery. A list of accessories and prices would be most helpful. the Panasonic website was unhelpful.
The picture quality is superb and the controls are easy to use despite the overall size of the camcorder which makes a bit of extra dexterity from the larger male fingers required. But 'practice makes perfect'

I needed a new Camcorder with a holiday to Oz and New Zealander pending. Having read the excellent reviews by other buyers, my wife ordered the HDC - TM10 at 9:30am one morning and it arrived 11:00am the following day which was excellent service.
Having video'd a few scenes and replayed them back on my HD Panasonic tv, the picture quality is truly amazing.
Although their are four selections of video resolution to choose from, I found that there was no discernable difference when viewing video using the top three resolutions, To achieve longer recording times, I will therefore probably choose level 2 resolution.
Because my Panasonic tv has Viera link, its very easy to view video shots using the tv handset.
All in all, with limited use so far, the unit seems top spec with no obvious limitations.
Well done Panasonic.

Before I bought this camcorder, I was looking for something that would help me with my movie making, as I like to make short videos. I happened to find this product on here, and got it within 2 days of ordering. This is just an amazing camcorder, very easy to use, and lightweight too. I have yet to make a proper movie but after doing a few test recordings, it looks fantastic. I connected the camcorder to my TV at home and it looks so clear! This is a product I would seriously recommend and appears to be great value for money!
